1. Description:

PTSA (1,3,6,8-Pyrenetetrasulfonic acid tetrasodium salt hydrate) is a fluorescent tracer and pH indicator. It fluoresces blue in acidic solutions and in acidic organelles but fluoresces green in more basic organelles. This compound is potentially useful as a coloring agent, biological stain, optical detecting reagent.

2. Application:

The fluorescent signal is provided by the fluorescent tracer. A fluorescent tracer is formulated in a fixed proportion into a water treatment chemical (chemical: tracer=1000: 1) to form a fluorescent water treatment chemical.

In the normal circumstances of industrial circulating water, the chemicals content is 50-100PPM, equivalent to the detection of 50-100PPB fluorescence signal in circulating water(1PPM = 1000PPB).
