1. Description:
PTSA is a fluorescent probe and water treatment agent. It fluoresces blue in acidic solutions and in acidic organelles but fluoresces green in more basic organelles. This compound is potentially useful as a coloring agent, biological stain, optical detecting reagent.
PTSA can be used as a water-tracing dye. Through adding dye to the water system with problems like wastewater or boiler system, we can conduct plumbing or piping tracing, leak detection, checking for illegal tapping, pollution studies, natural water flow analysis(rivers, lakes, ocean currents,cave water flows, groundwater filtration,etc.) sewer and stormwater analysis.
